BECK'S BIG OVERSEAS ADVENTURE: October 2004

Indecision is my Kryptonite..

So there's been a few things swimming around in my mind lately.. usually there's just thoughts of eating and sleeping slothing around up there, but I've started a "Introduction to Product Design" short course at the Camberwell College of Arts a couple of weeks ago and am trying to get my brain to be a bit more creative.. The course is going along okay - though it's a little informal, but I need to think of something to design (and model) for my now 8 week project..

so anyways, consultation with my tutor has prompted me towards some ipod/tube wear (functional) or a set of elephant shaped shampoo/conditioner/bodywash dispensers (there was a function in the beginning - but now it's probably purely aesthetic).. hmm.. i just wish i had more time to think about/research this stuff.. work is such a pest..

meanwhile, the other thing i've been thinking about whether I am going to survive the winter over here without being able to travel overseas.. you see, my visa runs out in december and I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to get a Highly Skilled Migrant visa, but the current waiting period for approval is 24 weeks!!.. faced with the thought of being stuck in this country for that length of time with no overseas jaunts is simply frightening.. especially when I think that I could be in the warmth of the southern hemisphere... hmmm.. i think the current lean is to just stick out the winter and pack on the pounds (financially - i hope)..

so that's what's going through my mind..

that and what i'm going to wear tomorrow night to our halloween party - no doubt some hilarious pictures will follow...

Why has my Pod foresaken me?..

my ipod doesn't want to play with me.. what have i done to upset it?.. I don't know how much longer I can go on like this.. The commute is so lifeless and painful without you..

..so.. in usual tuesday afternoon conversation, something triggered my mind to think of this cartoon we used to watch as kids about some inca kids travelling around in a golden bird vehicle type device.. (now that i think about it - the trigger was probably the photo of Machu Picchu that my desk-mate Rich has on the wall of our office)... so a bit of a surf later and it all comes back.. well not all of it.. but the memory that I was totally addicted to this cartoon - yet I can't remember that much about it... funny what the brain stores isn't it?..

The Golden Condor

Late Mid-Twenties..

Seems like I'm desperately hanging onto my mid-twenties (late-twenties sounds so responsible!).. and in usual fashion why not close out another year with a bang?.. or some belly dancing at least..

So me and me mates Blake, Gail, Pauline, Ray, Gaby, Paige, Sam, Josh, Kath, Janine, Chook, Alexis, Kris, Mel, Omar, Megs, Adam, Aaron, Sherie, Patsy, Sally, Andy, Jon, Jared, Darren, Richard, Jeff, Trace and Shayan went to cafe corfu for some good old fashion greek food, drink and dancing (and for some of us onto Club Koko for some more dancing)!..

I'm amazed that I have so many fantastic friends over here, and am really grateful to you all for making my life so happy and full of fun!!

Lots of fun and hilarity - as the pictures clearly show.. A fantastic night I will never forget..

Rediscovering London..

Gail made a quick visit to london town to check out the sites and of course to see me.. it gave me the chance to wander around town and re-discover the beauty and amazing history of it all... it really is an amazing place..
